Requirements and Process of Obtaining a Tourist Visa UAE

Passport Requirements
Securing a UAE tourist visa is straight forward with the correct documentation. However, regulations vary depending on your nationality. It’s essential to be aware of the specific requirements applicable to your country.
Below is an overview of the diverse tourist visa options accessible to expatriates intending to visit the UAE. Owing to the ongoing pandemic, travel regulations are subject to frequent updates.

Visa on Arrival in the UAE
Certain countries’ citizens are eligible for a visa on arrival in the UAE, which is the easiest, cheapest, and most direct option. If you qualify for this visa, it’s recommended to opt for it.
The duration of these visas varies depending on the issuing country of your passport. Eligible citizens must present a passport with a validity of at least six months. If your passport has less than six months of validity, obtaining a new passport before traveling to the UAE is necessary.
Passport holders from the following countries are eligible for a 30-day visa:
Andorra, Australia, Brunei, Canada, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Kazakhstan, Macau, Malaysia, Mauritius, Monaco, New Zealand, The Republic of Ireland, San Marino, Singapore, Ukraine, The United Kingdom, and Northern Ireland, The United States of America, Vatican City.
Passport holders from the above countries can access a UAE visa on arrival free of charge. It’s also worth noting that this is a single-entry visa.
Alternatively, if you are a passport holder of one of the following countries, you can access a 90-day, multiple-entry visa, free of charge:
Argentina, Austria, The Bahamas, Barbados, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Croatia, Cyprus, The Czech Republic, Denmark, El Salvador, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Honduras, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Kiribati, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, The Maldives, Malta, Montenegro, Nauru, The Netherlands, Norway, Paraguay, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russian Federation, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, San Marino, Serbia, Seychelles, Slovakia, Slovenia, Solomon Islands, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Uruguay.
For Mexican citizens, a 180-day, multiple-entry visa on arrival is available. To qualify, you must provide plane tickets, health insurance, and a hotel reservation. Additionally, your passport must have a minimum validity of six months.
Indian passport holders have different regulations. They can obtain a 14-day visa on arrival by presenting either a USA-issued visit visa or green card valid for at least six months, or proof of UK or EU residence. This visa costs AED 120 (approximately USD 33).
If you’re an Indian passport holder and unable to provide the mentioned documentation, you must apply for a prearranged tourist visa.
Pre-arranged tourist visa for the UAE
For individuals whose countries are not included in the list above, obtaining a pre-arranged tourist visa is necessary. Several options are available based on the desired length of stay in the UAE, requiring a passport with a minimum validity of three months.
To apply for a prearranged visa, you’ll require:
A color copy of your passport
A color photograph of yourself
An application form
A copy of your plane ticket
A 48-hour and 96-hour non-extendable visa cost USD 10 and USD 30, respectively. Alternatively, a single-entry, short-term tourist visa is priced at USD 90, extendable for USD 230.
Another option is a short-term, multiple-entry visa priced at USD 175, valid for 30 days and extendable for USD 230.
For those planning an extended stay, long-term tourist visas are available. Single-entry and multiple-entry visas for a 90-day stay cost USD 190 and USD 460, respectively, with extension options for an additional USD 230.
Additional documentation, such as a National ID card, may be required for applicants from Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, or Iran.
